Do you have a special place in your heart and home for a cat who was rescued by Multnomah County Animal Services? Bailey is a spunky beautiful white and gray male cat, 10 years, who is living in a temporary foster home until he can be adopted by his forever family. He likely suffered some neglect in his former home but is thriving with love and patience. His personality has blossomed in the foster home. He uses his litter box faithfully and is healthy and frisky. Bailey loves playing with feathers and chasing toys. He is quite shy at first and can be affectionate but on his own terms as he's still learning to trust. His need for affection grows every day and he asks for chin scratches regularly and purrs loudly. Just don't overdue it or the love bites start! Bailey will likely be a cat who curls up on the couch next to you while you read or watch TV. This kitty needs an indoor-only home to keep him safe from cars, coyotes and mean people. Families with young children would not be ideal due to overeager kids.
He recently had eye surgery at the shelter which completely fixed a common genetic condition called entropion where the eyelid turns toward the eye (ouch!). Some of the photos show his eye before surgery. He recovered quickly and seems much happier now. He also had a dental and blood work which was good.
Bailey's adoption fee is only $30 (for cats 6 yrs and over). He is neutered, has vaccines, dewormed, de-flead, vet examined, microchipped. He seems to have an allergy to fleas so flea control is important. The adopter will also get a free certificate for a vet exam post adoption with some Revolution flea control just in case. A license is required if you live in Multnomah County only.
If you think you could offer Bailey a second chance, Please send the foster volunteer an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
