Phil the cat went missing on April 22, 2010. Days without Phil turned into weeks and after a certain amount of time, his owner, Jeanne, thought she’d never see him again.
Yet four months later Jeanne was reunited with Phil. He was found at Rooster Rock Park (more than 20 miles away from his home!) and brought into the shelter on August 16, 2010. Upon entry, Phil was scanned and found to have a microchip which identified Jeanne as his owner.
Needless to say, Jeanne was ecstatic to receive the call from MCAS. Bright and early the very next day, Jeanne arrived at the shelter to retrieve Phil and bring him home. And as you can see from the photos, it appears that Phil was just as happy to see her as she was to see him. Another happy ending!
The moral of the story? Microchipping works!
