Multnomah County Animal Services Rescues Fifty-Two Animals from Portland Residence

On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, Multnomah County Animal Services executed a search warrant at a residence in SE Portland with the support of Portland Police Bureau.

Animal Services had received a complaint about the condition of animals at the residence. Upon searching the residence, animals were found living in unsanitary and crowded housing conditions with minimal access to food and water. Minimum care standards as defined by ORS 167.310 were not being met.

Fifty-two (52) animals were seized and impounded, including:

  • 16 rabbits
  • 3 guinea pigs
  • 1 turtle
  • 4 parakeets
  • 9 adult cats
  • 3 kittens
  • 6 adult dogs
  • 10 puppies

All animals are now in the care and custody of Multnomah County Animal Services while the case is pending final investigation and judicial action.

Personal information about the owner and the location of the residence are not being released at this time.

The final disposition of these animals has not been determined, and they are not currently available for adoption.
