A lot of interest was recently generated by Freedom, the “Freeway Dog”. As you may recall, she was picked up on Hwy 205 a few weeks ago. Freedom came into the shelter frightened and wary. She was injured and we believe she was struck by a car. As a result, she had to undergo surgery to her hind leg.
We’re happy to report that Freedom is now in foster care and her foster mom tells us that she’s doing really well. She’s happy, sweet, social and loves to give her foster family kisses. She is crate-trained and almost completely housetrained. She’s also getting along well with the resident dog and can often be found snuggling with him. Although still recovering from surgery, she’s improving quickly and doesn’t let her injury stop her from being outside and basking in the afternoon sun.
