The winners of the FUTY Festival Volunteer Award of Excellence will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize, and their organization will also receive a $1,000 donation from Mud Bay.  Our 2019 volunteer nominee is Sue Smith.

Ray’s prolific initiative to help the animals and people at the shelter and improve the environment has made him well-known and well-liked among his peers. Whether caring for kittens in the Kitten Triage Program, helping adopters in the cattery, or building something with the Hammer & Nails Volunteers

Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) officially joins the ranks of shelters using facial recognition technology to identify lost dogs and cats and reunite them with their owners. MCAS has implemented the Finding Rover service on its website at multcopets.org since October 2018, offering the community an additional tool to help lost and adoptable dogs and cats find their homes.

Wade Sadler, the Business Operations Manager at Multnomah County Animal Services, has been named interim director. He replaces Jackie Rose, who has accepted a position as director of Ventura County (Calif.) Animal Services. Rose leaves the County April 12.
