The Multnomah County Animal Shelter (MCAS) accepted 811 animals in October 2019. The majority of intakes were stray and impounded animals. Dogs and cats were the most commonly accepted animals.

The Multnomah County Animal Shelter released 797 animals. The majority of these animals were adopted, transferred to another agency, or reclaimed. Dogs, kittens, and cats were the most commonly released animals.

*95 of the 150 animals euthanized this month were feeder mice that were found abandoned, and posed a significant health risk due to their condition.
