Your cats want a catio! See how to give them safe outdoor time during the In-Person and Online Video Tours on September 11, 2021. The Catio Tour is hosted by Cats Safe at Home.

THE 2021 CATIO TOUR OFFERS TWO OPTIONS THIS YEAR!

In-Person Self-Guided Catio Tour

The IN-PERSON self-guided Catio Tour showcases 9 catios in the Portland metro area. A guidebook with details about the catios will be emailed to you about a week before the tour. It will have photos, Quick Facts with building materials and cost, and a map so you can choose your route and pick which catios to check out. You can begin and end your day wherever you please...just like your cat! Catio Hosts and volunteers will be available at each catio stop to chat with you about the catio features. Masks will be required to be worn at each location on the Catio Tour, regardless of vaccination status. We will be monitoring the flow of foot traffic and encourage social distancing.

Online Video Tour

The ONLINE VIDEO TOUR showcases the same catios on the In-Person tour - from the comfort and safety of your home. Each will have a professionally-created video tour of the catio plus an interview with the homeowner(s) about their catio’s construction and features. For each catio you will also see photos and 360-degree images so you can really explore the catio. You will also get a guidebook with details about the catios about a week before the tour. It will have photos, Quick Facts with building materials, and cost.

About the Catio Tour & Cats Safe at Home

The Catio Tour is part of Portland Audubon’s and the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon’s Cats Safe at Home™ outreach and education campaign, of which Multnomah County Animal Services is a participant. This effort seeks to reduce the number of cats living outdoors in the Portland metropolitan area in a humane and environmentally responsible manner. Both organizations believe every cat deserves a safe home where they are loved, cared for, and kept free from hazards. The Catio Tour was created to offer inspiration for those looking for ways for their pet cat to have safe outdoor time.
