Подробная информация
This is a female Polydactyl grey and gold tabby with black stripes. She had run through the yard many times prior to early September but there was no making friends with her. She seemed to be a feral cat. In the 1st week or so of Sept. She finally stopped at the door and was scared to death, a rack of bones, hungry and was being pursued by 5 different males. She darted away far enough that she could run, not allowing any close contact but clearly was happy to eat at my doorstep if I put food out and then went back inside and stayed away from the glass door where she could see me. She hunkered down just outside the door under the chair but if I came out she was gone like lightening. I just kept offering food and water. At nights, I think she would be under one of my decks....small entrance but I'm guessing too small for the larger Tom's to get to her. She was a "teen" from my perspective. 5# would probably be an over guess on what she weighed. Anyway, I worked with her day and night. Never trying to touch her just letting her come and go, talking to her constantly, offer food and shelter under the chair with a blanket. I started leaving my door open right next to the chair. I hoped to tame her then find her a home. I knew from past experience they will put them down if they are wild. I started putting the food just inside the door. she went for it but was very uncomfortable at first. If I was in the kitchen, I would pretend nothing was unusual, id say hi to her and talk to her with a calming voice but never approach her. Eventually I would put my hand down and invite her to pet me. finally she did and I carefully touched her back...she reacted at first but eventually that was our communication. I put my hand out....if she felt trusting she would smell it then rub against my hand and then I could pet her but never worked to reach for her. Anyway. so I finally got her beyond the door. two nights in a row she was gone all night and I didn't sleep...I sat up with the door open waiting for her to get hungry and come in. The second night I shut the door on her and declared she was no longer a feral cat! The plan was to make sure she had trust with me, then get her to a vet, have her spayed and find her a home. Instead, she had morning sickness within 2 - 3 weeks and was nesting. So....now we are in a dilemma. She seemed healthy though her stools have never really been correct. I put her on flea medicine and hoped the stools would improve, they didn't, I got an over the counter parasite med. She is still not fully ok on that end. She is however a fully domestic and socialized cat. She trusts better than many I have seen that came from pet homes. Her meow is more of a low sweet calming talk. She does react strongly to male Tom's that come through the yard. She had 5 kittens on Dec. 15. We are at the last week of weening them. I have a home for 2 babies but the other 3 (one is polydactyl and the other 2 seem Maine Coon long hair) and momma need homes. I am on a low budget and I require renters to fill the gaps. I am unable to rent the room they are living in which puts a huge financial burden on me. When I did the potential cat population numbers calculations early on....I made that choice to foot the bill to keep hundreds of future generations from Polly off the street but if by chance she is your kitty. You now know what has happened. I don't expect an owner to show up she was quite wild. But I do have a most amazing gentle, loving, grateful, momma cat and 3 of her adorable kittens to find homes for. Two of the kittens seem pretty bonded, the Polydactyl kitten seems exceptionally loving and quite happy being alone but still interacts well with the others....a free spirit. Polly (momma) is amazing....everyone is potty trained. Momma has one week to end the nursing....says the vet it's too hard on her and the babies are eating on their own. After she returns to normal we schedule her for spaying. I will do whatever the vet says is necessary for all of them until I can find people who can take them and love them and help me with stopping this potential cat population on the streets. Thank You for listening. Feel free to call or text, or text to make sure I can take a call. Again, thank you.
