The Multnomah County Animal Shelter (MCAS) accepted 410 animals in January 2020. The majority of intakes were stray and impounded animals. Dogs and cats were the most commonly accepted animals.

The Multnomah County Animal Shelter released 385 animals. The majority of these animals were adopted, reclaimed, or transferred to other agencies. Cats and dogs were the most commonly released animals.
