Scam Targeting Owners of Lost Pets

We have received reports that scammers are targeting those who’ve lost their pets, pretending to be from Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) and demanding payment before returning found pets. 

Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) will NEVER ask for payment to reunite you with your lost pet. 

MCAS isn’t charging shelter impound or board fees for found animals.

What to do?

If you receive a call like this, HANG UP, and call MCAS at 503-988-7387 to report it.
